Organic SEO

Organic SEO is all about being in the left hand side of the page, so probably requires the logical right brain’s input!

In order to achieve regular top listings on the left hand side of the page, which will attract 80% of all the click activity, then you need to be adding content on a regular basis.

You need to be adding content to websites or blogs that the search engines are attracted to. It also adds power if the website relates to your mission. No point in offering hair dressing technique tips on a finance dominated website, unless you’re talking about the latest wonder hair spray and their share price has move 10 points!

So first thing to do, before you excel a ton of random energy in a 100 different directions which result in a not a lot going on, is to choose your mission, make it singular.

If you sell a range of products or services, pick just one to work with. One that is both profitable and popular.

When you have decided which it is to be then you need to write down all the key phrases you would use to find your “chosen one”. Ask friends and colleagues for the input on this and generate a list of 100 phrases.

Then, using a product such as Word Tracker, assess each phrase and turn your 100 into your top 10 key phrases based on the power of the phrase (number searching it) and also relevance to you, possibly a geographical reference i.e. * in Berkshire, where * is your key phrase. This may not be searched by as many people but it will certainly be more powerful as people do tend to like to do business locally.

I’m feeling a series coming on... let’s call this part 1 and in a few days we’ll do part 2 which deals with... now that would be telling!! Talk again soon about organic seo.
